Is it considered murder if you indirectly kill somebody?

Hypothetically speaking, If a kid and his friends “took” their uncles hunting rifle and a started shooting in random directions and “accidentally” hit a rope holding up a cinder block, and the cinder block “accidentally” hit somebody in a crowd standing directly under said cinder block. Would this be considered murder? Because the kids really didn’t mean to. And is it worse that the kids ran away after? Hypothetically speaking

Yes, the actions directly lead to the death of that person.
There are degrees of murder, so this would probably be 2nd, or manslaughter depending on the state and their laws.
But an act that causes injury of death is still a crime even if no harm was intended.
If the kids ran away the police are not going to believe their story so it could be worse.
